    About the tournament

The annual golf tournament raises vital funds to give Special Olympics BC athletes the opportunity to participate and succeed in sports, strengthen inclusion in their communities, and build vital friendships, skills, and physical and mental wellness.

Canaccord Genuity and the SOBC Classic play a critical part in helping Special Olympics BC provide year-round sport, youth, and health programs and competitions at low or no cost for more than 3,400 athletes with intellectual disabilities of all ages and a wide range of ability levels.

A continued commitment to inclusion and impact

Canaccord Genuity has been a Special Olympics BC sponsor for 18 years through a range of meaningful events. Several Canaccord Genuity employees are critical leaders for the Special Olympics movement in B.C. as volunteers on the Board of Directors and fundraising event committees.

By taking on a two-year term as the Presenting Sponsor of the Special Olympics BC Classic, Canaccord Genuity is demonstrating their vital leadership for social change, building opportunities for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities and strengthening inclusion by opening hearts and minds to their abilities.

Special Olympics BC’s programs and competitions are so important to athletes with intellectual disabilities in 55 communities across our province. Many struggle with financial burdens, and Special Olympics BC remains committed to providing our life-changing programs and empowering community at low or no cost for all athletes. The support of Canaccord Genuity is essential to help Special Olympics BC enrich the lives of athletes with intellectual disabilities and build inclusion through the power and joy of sport.
